Highway buses from Osaka to Amanohashidate

Highway buses from the Osaka area to Amanohashidate run from Osaka (Hankyu Umeda) via Shin-Osaka and then Osaka Airport.
They then operate to Miyazu-Amanohashidate Interchange, Miyazu Station, and Tango area.

There are only three trains a day, and it takes about 2 hours and 40 minutes to get there.
However, no transfers are required and the price is around 3,000 yen.
It is recommended for those who value cheap and easy access.

All seats on Highway buses are reserved seats.
Tickets must be purchased in advance at the ticket counter, by phone, on the Internet, or at a convenience store.

When taking a bus to Amanohashidate from Osaka City, board at the Osaka Umeda Terminal of Hankyu Highway buses.
If you wish to take the Shinkansen to Shin-Osaka and go directly to Amanohashidate, you can board at the Highway buses terminal near Shin-Osaka Station.

There are two ways to get to Amanohashidate from Osaka by limited express train.
One is to change trains at Fukuchiyama and the other is to change trains at Kyoto.

How to transfer in Kyoto station
It takes about 30 minutes from Osaka Station to Kyoto Station by rapid train.
From Kyoto to Amanohashidate takes about 2 hours using the limited express train Hashidate.
There are four trains a day from Kyoto to Amanohashidate, so it is best to go from Osaka to Kyoto according to the time of the limited express train.

How to transfer at Fukuchiyama

From Osaka to Fukuchiyama, use the limited express Konotori, and from Fukuchiyama to Amanohashidate use either the limited express Tango Relay or the limited express Hashidate.
The limited express Konotori from Osaka to Fukuchiyama runs at an hourly interval. From Fukuchiyama to Amanohashidate, either the limited express Tango Relay or the limited express Hashidate runs eight times a day.
Fukuchiyama is famous not only for its famous landmarks such as Fukuchiyama Castle and Ama-no-Iwato Shrine built by Mitsuhide Akechi, but also for its “town of meat” and “town of sweets. It is a good idea to enjoy the history and gourmet food of Fukuchiyama before heading to Amanohashidate.

3:【Conventional Lines】 Save up to 2,500 yen by focusing on cheapness!

If you want to save transportation costs as much as possible, we recommend that you take only conventional trains from Osaka to Amanohashidate without using limited express trains.
Although it takes more time and requires more transfers, the fare is up to 2,500 yen less than the limited express train.
For example, if you change trains at Kyoto, Sonobe, Ayabe, and Nishi-Maizuru, the trip takes 3 hours and 50 minutes and costs 3,290 yen. There are many sightseeing spots at the transfer stations along the way, so it is recommended for those who want to enjoy their trip while taking side trips!
The Seishun 18 Ticket is a ticket that allows you to freely get on and off unreserved seats on regular and rapid trains of JR lines, BRT (Bus Rapid Transit), and the JR West Miyajima Ferry.
With this ticket, you can freely get on and off all JR stations for 5 days for 12,050 yen.
Considering the round-trip fare, the result may be a bargain.
There are different periods of time when you can purchase the tickets, so please check the JR website according to the time of year you will be traveling.

How to go to Amanohashidate by car

To get to Amanohashidate from Osaka, use the Chugoku Expressway or Maizuru-Wakasa Expressway and go via Ayabe JCT.
The trip takes less than 2 hours. It may take longer than planned if you get caught in traffic jams, so plan your visit with plenty of time to spare.
